On the road with the the Northcotians

image          ‘Why don’t you get a new one“, 2013, watercolor.

Late next Friday when lovers are canoodling all over Melbourne, probably in 40 degree heat, Mick  -“The Man”, Indi  – ‘Frenchy”, Laila – “LaLa”  and I  “the beauty school dropout” will be enjoying the browns and beiges of the Tulla airport lounge awaiting departure.

Living up to my motto of “Pack early, Pack often”, I have been packed for some time (though a little late for Chops, who expected me to be packed last October).

Included in my pack is my trusty rusty water bottle (see above) whose disgusting moldy, metallic taste can conceal the fetid flavours of any water you choose to fill it with. This would hold me in good stead if we were going to London or Adelaide but alas, neither of these are on the itinerary. This bottle bought on our first trip, listing all the cantons of Switzerland, has seen many travels and marathons. Whilst we have only made it to a few of the cantons, I do try to see some more of my beloved Graubunden each time we visit. As a result our grand tour looks like this:

Tulla    Berlin    Brussels      Paris       St Martin de Belleville,   various not so interesting bits of die Schweiz   Scuol     Ille sur la Sourge   Lyon   Northcote

The man has been looking for a t-shirt that will list the ueber cool places we are visiting :   Berlin   Paris   Northcote  .  I don’t think we will find one.

Anyhow, my promise to you (and to me) is to accompany each blog with a watercolor or sketch. That way you don’t have to read my musings and I will be forced to paint or to resist banging on about stuff.

Au Revoir
